Wilton Power Station has nine 33MW Metropolitan Vickers/AEI turbine-generator sets. The first six turbines were commissioned in 1953, and an additional three units were added in 1965.
The nine boilers at Wilton Power Station were manufactured by Babcock and Wilcox. The boiler house also contains the original pulverising mills, some of the earliest still in existence.
The control room at Wilton Power Station has been modernised, and the original panels remain in place around the outer walls of the room.
